Any body got one of these?  In the spec sheet it says the slug barrel is 28"  might have to get one of these.

Dave I think your reading a typo .I think the new catalog shows three combo's the rifle the pardner and the Excell the smooth bores are 28" but the rifled slug bbl's are either 22"or 24". A 28"slug bbl is just loosing velocity after the sweet spot of 18-24" barrels and I think with all the testing that has been done on these bbl's the 24" may be a little long. Now if you was rolling your own slugs that may be different. But I am sure H&R does not offer 28"rifled. Kurt

That's the 44mag/12ga combo, they also offer a 357mag/20ga combo, those are the result of the Indiana pistol chambered rifle deer hunting season, both are on SB1 frames and can't be fitted with other rifle barrels, they won't be available for a while yet, they're expected next month.

I would like that, but I really don't understand why they didn't keep the open sights on the rifle barrels.  Also, here in Minnesota, you actually have to fire those pistol calibers out of a pistol.  Either shotgun/pistol zone or rifle zone.

That's an easy answer, sights are a lot more expensive to produce than a scope rail and 3 mounting holes, remember the bottom line... profit!!

I called CS and they said it is a 24" slug barrel,  Actually its the barrel off the new ultra light slug hunter.

It sure would be nice if they're get their specs right BEFORE they put in in print in the catalog or website. And of course you can't depend on what you're told by customer service all the time either, that's been proven time and time again, unfortunately,  until you have one in hand, you may not know what the heck it will be.
