Hog callers beware
« on: July 07, 2003, 11:26:58 AM »
About 7 weeks ago I got two hog squealer calls from Gamecalls.net . One was a Primos the other was a Knight & Hale . The Primos call works good, the Knight & Hale was so far off I called Game Calls net  for a refund. They told me that there was not a thing they were going to do. No refund no exchange because I blow in it.... That I should  talk to Knight & Hale.... I called Knight & Hale and shipped the call back to them as requested by there P.R. rep Jerry. This was 6 weeks ago... Now they will not refund the money because I did not buy it from them, but they have the call..... Got porked again....

thanks for the heads up.  It's too bad when niether the maker or seller of the product will stand behind it.  Might scratch both of those two off of my list,  but thats also why I won't buy off the net.

That story is a wee bit hard to believe even if true. Reason I say this is I had a problem with a K&H call once also. Didn't buy it from them either but they made it. They bent over backwards to make things right. Gave me a brand new call that worked right and even sent me another call to try free of charge. This was before I was into product testing and they had no clue I had a website.

Contact them and they will make it right I have no doubt. They are one of the better outfits in the business on customer support.

Graybeard I am sorry you don't beleave me.... But did you read what I said ? I did not say they would not replace the call... I said they would not refund my money. If the call is made wrong from the start, what good would it be to replace with a call of the some making? If you compare there call to a Primos or a Haydel  there is non.... Most  all coyote calls use the same reed from Goodyear Az. The same reed is used in a pig squealer... In fact to make a coyote call into a squealer all ya got to do is add a SMALL diameter flex tubing. Primos and Haydel have both gone to the double reed. K&H are still using the single reed... BUT the make it or brake, it is in the size and length of the tube. This is were it ether sounds like a pig squealing of a rabbit. K&H sounds liks a rabbit.
Now since I posted this massage one of K&H  reps from Montana called and next week he is sending me parts of calls to put together so I can  try and  get the right sound. There rep also told me that he had never used there pig squealer or had he ever called a hog. I did invite him out here to the ranch for a night of hair raising hog calling.... So the bottom line is Graybeard it is true, you can beleave it or not....I did not make this up just because I have nothing else to do with my time. Just passing on a "beware" All ya got to do to prove me wrong is call there rep Jerry in Arkansas. Last time I talked to him he said he had the call I bught on his desk.... Maybe he'll send it to you. Then you can compare it to a Haydel and a Primos and see for yourself.... Ill be waiting to hear your expert opinion....

I guess I misread what you said then. Happens some times late at night when I've had a hard day. I missed the part about them not refunding the money. Just whizzed rat by over my head I guess. I didn't try that. I got a call that worked from them for mine that didn't.
