Gas is $3.00 something here for a while now, I try not to even look anymore can't do nothing anyway.
I see on the news last night that flour had gone from $15.00 to $40.00 don't recall the pounds involved. It is because of wheat price going up because of ethanol production. So while it may conserve gas and be the green thing to do ethanol isn't going to be cheap. Your going to pay more for your bread and pasta anything wheat or flour based. I've always thought that wheat, corn, beans where consider staples?? So when it is all said and done it makes little difference what we do to conserve, we pay in some way.
Anyone besides me remember when NSP's add jingle was "Electricity is penny cheap!" plug it in turn it on. Now they say "Do your part!" turn it off, unplug, conserve, conserve, except of course on off peek hours when they can't store the extra electricity they generate. Then it's Hey! here is a night light and we can give you a yard light for free, just pay for the electricity.
Average person can't win!
Hate to say it but the biggest problem...To many people on the planet.... Parasites often kill their host.
