$300 = 6 BSA's

OK OK don't do that.

Let us know what your doing  ie a 24X would not go well on a 458 Lott

If it's a hunting rifle and I assume it is since it's a 7 mag then I'd not go over 3-9 or 3.5-10 in magnification. The Nikon scopes should do well but I'd rather have the Bushnell Elite and for sure you can get the E3200 3-9 well within your budget.

The real best bang for the buck tho are used scopes you pick up from the Classifieds here as you can save a lot of money from new cost and get an excellent scope in the process. I've bought and sold a lot of them here. There are always some listed. Stick with the major brands and you'll do fine.

I like the Nikon's with BDC. The Burris fullfield II with ballistic plex might be worth a look also.
Just remember that the BDC is set up for full power.
I'll go with Graybeard on the power.
That 14x might be nice for targets and 600yd shots but the rest of the time
a 9x would shake less and have more field of view.

I've been burned by most of the non-Leupold brands and if there is one I missed I know someone that has been burned. Leupold service is incredible. Also, bought 3 clearance Simmons 6.5 x 20 a year ago, currently two work. I understand it's warranted for life to the original purchaser; but, just gonna use it for spotting and stick with Leupold. Nikon would be my second choice, got one that hasn't been a problem and don't believe it's quite as good as Leupold.

I would go with a 3200 Elite in a 3-9x40mm but we are all different. If I were you, I would go to a store with all of the major brands and start looking through them. Your decision will come easier for you. I have done this many times for different rifles/calibers/uses and it really works for me. I have looked through scopes that others can't live without and they just do not suit me and my eyes. Good luck and have fun with whatever you choose.

Anyone use Mueller scopes?
Everyone seem to give advise on Bushnell, Nikon, Burris and Leupold.

I never hear of Mueller scopes before this site.  I don't like their warranty rules at all.  http://www.muelleroptics.com/products/lifetime-warranty.html

With Leupold you just mail them the scope with a note describing the problem and they will repair or replace it without question.  They do this all free of charge, only cost to you is your initial shipping.

Nothing wrong with a Burris 3-9x40 with the ballistic Plex. Just so happens there's like new one for sale in the classifieds...

Okay, I admit its my add... but it is an excellent scope.
