Replacement wood stock for Stevens 200
« on: February 22, 2008, 08:06:20 AM »
Will a Stevens 200 barreled action (223 Remington) fit in a Savage Model 10 short action wood stock or would it have to be a 3 digit Model like the 110 or 111.

I am wanting to replace the tupperware one and am looking for a basic factory wood stock.

Three digit models are long action and will not fit.
Everything I have seen says a short action savage(10,12,16,etc) stock will fit a Stevens.

depends what model 200 you have. they changed the magazine sometime after introducing them...if it has the center feed magazine it is going to be tough to find a stock, because you'd have to buy a brand-new savage to get one. if its the old savage 110-style where the cartridges are staggered left and right in the magazine, you'll be fine.

Forgot to add that is is the older, staggered style magazine.

I found a wood stock from a Model 10, with a short action, but am not sure if it will fit.

Thanks
