down with the sickness
« on: February 23, 2008, 08:23:55 AM »
i been sick lately cause i got a real bad bite from a rat. me and my friends were cleaning out the dump and we had shot a few coyotes that were around it. When someone had the idea just to set fire to everything. that was a VERY BAD IDEA cause the fire got out of control and TONS of very mad rats came running out of it. It was like a bad dream or something out of a movie and i say s@@t run and ran.  the fire was moving fast and had cut out the only way to get out to we had  to run into the rats and run to the small lake behind the dump. I have never seen a sea of rats but we moved into it and i thought maybe if i fire a few off from my gun they would move or something. I fired off about six from my airgun but that made things worse cause before they were running pass us and now a few run onto  me. About 5 or six got me and we did make it to the water and swim across and then ran like hell.  the fire burn it's self out after a day and i had to go get checked out. I was OK but i got the flu. fire+rats= getting bites.

Sounds like a bad dream. What did you do with your guns when swimming across the lake? Was it a dream?

Any pics?

Good story!

I just read this again. This is the biggest fish story BS story I have ever heard of in my life. The first time I read it I thought you were refering to a dump truck you were cleaning out. The second time I relise you are talking about cleaning out a real dump. Who doese that???????? That is what a dump is used for the final resting place for waste. No one cleans up a dump. Dale

Dale,

You may be partly right. It could be a final resting place for all of the poor innocent little critters he has bludgeoned to death with his high powered slingshot! ???

I also don't understand why you would setting a dump on fire with firearms nearby. Last time I checked fire and gun powder don't mix well. I guess maybe he should have shot at the rats with the slingshot it would have made more sense than shooting at a coyote with one. Also I would have to throw the B.S. flag because if that really did happen you would probably be in jail right now for accessory to arson.

Not a bs flag but a good question.

I'm old, but as I recall when we used to shoot rats at the dump ther was always a fire burning some place, that was just common practice at open dumps, it was always a lot of fun and there were tons of rats.  Doesn't sound too far fetched to me, guess you guys are just too civelized to understand dump shooting, you should try it some time.  Guess the good old days are still around some place.  Larry

I don't think it needs to go to the GB dump. I think this one, along with all the other ones should be forwarded to the proper authorities in his area. Normally, I'm a "live and let live" kind of person, but here's how I see this thing lately. If he's a kid, somebody needs to see that if he "really" has been doing ignorant stuff like he posts here that he gets the dicipline, or maybe even mental help he needs. If he's an adult, then somebody needs to lock him up before he causes somebody elses kid, or kids from being hurt, or worse.

Either way, all of us on here know, and have known about this potential problem for a long time, and if we turn a blind eye, and something tragic does happen, I feel like were're all kinda partially responsible. If I'm wrong, or out of line, then just tell me, but if I'm in the right, then I think somebody should act pretty quick before something bad does happen to this idiot, or some poor soul around him.

As far as dump shooting, there's nothing wrong with it, and I've done it myself. It's just the manner in which this fellow conducts(or claims to anyway) his self while supposedly hunting/shooting.

I think this is the byproduct of an over active imagination, no more and no less. It is also interesting and entertaining.

it was a dump for cars parts and others things. The fire was not out(it looked out) and the new port and PALM HARBOR fire department had to come to put it out for good. i just put my gun in my pocket and swim across. I didn't start that fire and i would not do something cazy and dumb like that(we are in a dry spell and there were old car parts and some other stuff there). Anyways i not going to have anything to do with those people, this is the 2nd time i have been with them and they did something dumb. the first time was we were hunting this large ranch that they said that they know the people and it was ok, well they didn't and the guy comes out with 3 other men all with guns(if i remeber right one had a AK-47 with the Dragunov Stock, one had a 1911 and the other a shotgun) and the  cops came. they took ours guns(i had a bow) but i got to keep my bow and the owner didn't want to jail us, so we were let go or at least i was with my bow.

this kind of knowlege we can all benefit from!  so just in case any of you see a rat, have a match, and your curiousity is piqued when you wonder what would happen if you combined the two for laughs and giggles; dont do it!   learn from this tale of woe, wisdom earned the hard way!

Jamal my man, Rat bit, oh sh****t! I would rather be cat bit. I hope you are feeling better, you know they carry the plague. I hope you had a doctor look at that, you may have gotten rat scratch fever! If I may make a suggestion, see Dr. Nugent, he is one of this countries foremost authorities on this sickness. How could you let some thing so dumb happen to you. Do you feel light headed at all, you may be done for this time. If you live through this, let us know, we are praying for you buddy!

 Your friends at Bellevue.
