Scope Ring Height
« on: February 28, 2008, 03:11:21 PM »
I am about to purchase a set of Warne steel ring for my prohunter 300 Win Mag, that I'm going to top off with a Bushnell elite 3200 10x40 scope.

What ring height should I use to get enough clearance to pull back the hammer?

Thanks,
Scott

If the rings are high enough for the objective diameter, you'll be able to pull the hammer back.

I suspect you'll need medium rings.  On the MidwayUSA web site, there is a link to suggested ring heights when you pull up information on a set of rings.  It will tell you how high the rings should be for a given objective size.

I'm using Burris Signature Z rings medium height with the 3200 scope on a HB 25-06...   No problems at all getting to the hammer or on the front side with the Obj Bell.
