I said in a previous post that McCain is not my favorite choice of the Reps that started a few months ago,
in fact he was about 5th or 6th place among them , to my mind.
..But this I know, common sense dictates that a vote for anyone else in November is a vote for a Democrat !
...And it looks more and more like that Dem will be... Barak Hussein Obama !

If he does get in, how proud will you be if you succeed in assisting him into the oval office ? I cannot believe that
any red-blooded American, after 9/11 would be ready to help a guy named Barak Hussein Obama in becoming  our
 next president !
Sure, the loonie left will vote for "sleeper" Muslim, but we all know they aren't that bright anyway..but we
wouldn't expect a thinking person to do so.

Yes Double, I am well aware that McCain has made many bummer moves as senator, and you made a list of these gaffes.
So, let's be fair now and list the many ways that we can expect the far-and-away most liberal senator to handle our gun
rights, personal rights and independence..he has already promised to raise taxes and cancel the strategic defense system.

Iran is working feverishly to build nuclear warheads and build delivery systems..so why would a president of the US even
entertain the wild thought of rendering us defenseless in the face of Iranian, Russian, Chinese & N. Korean missles ?

That is , why ?..unless he's one of them ...
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

I have to agree with Ironglow on this one.  Let's face it, McCain is what we have and there's nothing that's going to change that at this point in the game.  Time to buck up and vote for the "Maverick" and hope like heck he doesn't stab us in the back.  I love this country!

  HeavyC;
McCain HAS promised to appoint "strict constructionist" judges to the Supreme Court, and I view that as just about the most important thing any president
  does domestically !
Will he keep his word ?   ..I think so..even though some of his earlier moves and some of the positions he presently holds, hurts him politically..he still stands by
them. Remember.." an officer's word is his bond"..I think with his Annapolis training and with what his military experiences taught him, he is a "stickler" about
keeping his word. Perhaps his VP choice, likely VERY conservative, will have some influence.

Let's look at the flip side.. I remain stubborn and help elect Barak Hussein Obama to the oval office:

It is a sure guarantee that Obama, the most liberal senator of all, will appoint the most liberal, most activist judges he can find, he will raise our taxes, try to seize our guns and will likely hold true with past Democrat administrations in cutting funds for training and equipment for our courageous troops..

We don't need any more Jimmy Carter type "rescue attempt, deaths in the desert" or Clinton style " ambushes in Mogadishu" (Blackhawk down)..
Which were largely caused by budget cutbacks that caused the troops to not get enough training to stay on a "fine edge"...

Gentleman, let's face it, McCain is the only real choice! I loathe him as much if not more than you. But you have to understand something. It won't make any difference who gets to be President. I twill be directed by the powers that be, and NO it isn't the congress. It's the CFR ( council of foreign relations). Better known as the Illuminati! Yu also have to realize that it's not just the masonic lodge, but a lot higher. Not the skull and crossbones club. It's a lot higher. The symbol for the CFR is a circle with a dot in the middle. Read some and you will find that the Druids are the elders of this bunch. The masons are but foot soldiers for them!

The electoral college is protected by the US Constitution...all the more reason we elect someone that will appoint "strict constructionist judges".

As a gun owner McCain is my only logical choice.  My wife and I will be voting for him again in November.

I agree that McCain is the least liberal of the 3 front runners but that doesn't mean he's not very liberal. His voting record and actions has shown us that he's no friend to conservatives. I don't believe him for a minute when he says he would appoint strict constructionist judges to the supreme court after seeing his actions during the the Gang of 14 fiasco.

He's telling us conservatives what we want to hear right now in order to get elected. His actions in the past prove that his words are
empty promises. Bush is pretty liberal but McCain makes him look like an ultra conservative.

The only thing that could get me to vote for McCain in the election is if he were to choose someone as a running mate with a proven track record of being a small government, pro-Constitution conservative.

I have to say this election is going to be the toughest decision I have ever made. I have in the past known that I would vote for the Republican nominee. This year will be different, I had almost talked myself into biting my tongue and voting McCain. Well here in MN on feb 19th there was an accident involving an Illegal immigrant and a school bus. Well there are 4 dead school children here i n MN because an Illegal immigrant. John McCain and all who supported the Comprehensive Immigration Bill last  year are an accomplice to these children's deaths. I'm not sure I can vote for him.

Obama and Clinton also are in favor of the illegals.  Do you think that with Democratic giveaways and illegal funding, they will be better than McCain overall?  IMO, I think it will be worse, so will vote McCain.

As I said in the earlier post,  McCain promised to appoint strict constructionist judges and you ask what our guarantee is, and as I also said ..all we have to go on is his track record of being a stickler at keeping his word..something he did for his fellow POWs...and it added several years to his captivity.

On the other hand, we have a VIRTUAL GUARANTEE that if either of the other two get elected, they will nominate the most liberal, activist, "deconstructionist" judges
  they can dig up.

His position on abortion is ..he doesn't like it and has stood pro-life during his whole career. I  just went to  www.ask.com/   and asked  Is John Mccain pro-life, I found plenty opf places where it showas his consistency on the issue..
he also wants to pay down the debt, put education back under local control, expose porkbarrel abuse, improve the lives of our military, keep our promises to our vets, strongly
maintain our national sovereignty and watch carefully for any abuse by big money special interests.

see for yourself..    http://transcript.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0002/28/se.01.html        and that by CNN, not exactly friendly territory for Republicans..

Just use   www.ask.com/    to get your answers to these and other, questions...

Sorry; can't comment upon the CFR stuff..I'm not a big "conspiracy fan ".

I am aware of the CFR and am well aware that they have much "pull" in politics, since many of them fill high governmental positions. Of course, some become CFR members after they achieve prominence. I am just not convinced that they have any more political clout than certain college fraternities, which have an inordinate number of their
members in the executive and legislative branches.
I don't like any given organization having an "in" with the movers & shakers..but it is a fact of life, happens all over the world...and there is little we can do about it.

Such favoritism is common, consider the vote in the UN today on sanctions against Iran, I am not at all surprised that the single "abstainer" (thus weakening the measure) was the delegation from Indonesia,#1 Muslim nation of the world !
   A fact of life !

I will not vote for McCain, simply because you are giving him license to carry out his agenda which as others have pointed out leans very much like those being introduced by the left.

If my not voting for McCain hastens the inevitable that will indeed happen in this country, then in the famous words of another lesser of the two evils I voted for, "Bring it on." Don't want it to happen, but sure as heck seems to be coming.

If we keep voting for the LESSER, How can we expect different results?

Its time the people get together & start a third party OR get together & take back the REP. party and the Constitution!

Right, What is that often quoted tidbit? "Futility is repeating the same thing over and over again, and then expecting different results."

About all one can do IMHO is take care of you and yours and try to be prepped for whatever happens.

Here's the GOP of 2008.

This what you want? If you accept it now, it's all you'll ever be offered from now on.

You may want to give the Republican party to the gungrabbers, but I don't.

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/49274_helen05.shtml

Hats off to John McCain effort to close gun-show loophole

WASHINGTON -- Gun-control advocates have a powerful new voice in the Senate who is seeking to close a loophole that allows weapons to be sold at gun shows without background checks.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who cited cases in which suspected terrorists were caught with weapons bought at U.S. gun shows, says he will try to "force Senate consideration" early next year of the measure. Former President Clinton tried but failed to curb such sales. Hats off to the senator if he succeeds.

A spokesman said McCain hopes to attach an amendment to appropriate legislation, possibly a homeland security bill, in January. The amendment would require background checks taking up to three days for would-be buyers from private, unlicensed dealers at gun shows.

No vote for McCain from me for anything forever.

He's the biggest Judas goat that Congress has produced yet.

It's time to either take back the Republican party or allow it to wither away.

McCain means more illegals,... lots more.

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2007/02/28/kennedy_mccain_try_again_on_immigration/

Kennedy, McCain try again on immigration

WASHINGTON -- Senators Edward M. Kennedy and John McCain are set to introduce a revised version of their sweeping plan to overhaul the nation's immigration laws, in a bill that's likely to restart a tense debate in Congress.

The measure, which is being drafted in consultation with the White House, will largely mirror the immigration bill that stalled last year, according to lawmakers and aides involved in the process. That measure was blocked primarily because House Republican leaders were adamantly opposed to provisions that would have allowed undocumented immigrants to become US citizens.

Im aware of all his stands on those issues. They stink. When Mcain-Feingold or Mcain- Kennedy came up for a vote, I was one of the many conservatives that spent alot of time emailling all my congressmen and women and constantly calling those congressional phone numbers in Washington like alot of other conservatives. In the end the phone banks were locked up solid. Congress got the message and the measures were voted down. If I have to invest alot of time doing it again I will. The alternative is Hillary or Obama which to me is worse than Mcain any day

It would be better to let the Democrats take the Presidency than to allow the Republican party be turned over to the liberals for all eternity,.... and that's what we're talking about here. That's what a McCain presidency will do.

If Republicans allow McCain to succeed as a Republican,... Conservatives will forever be eliminated from the GOP,.... because the Republicans who vote for him will have demonstrated that they will vote for anyone who wears an "R" beside their name,... even an enemy of their principals.

Just say "no" to liberals in the GOP.

I still predict a landslide victory against McCain. He has a zero percent chance of winning because Democrats will vote for Democrat candidates and many Republicans will be repelled by him.
