Lubrication issues
« on: February 29, 2008, 08:15:26 AM »
1.  Can you use LBT Blue lube (any of the varieties) for pan lubing?

2.  If you cut a mould with larger lube grooves for black powder, will that bullet still work OK with smokeless?

Best of the three LBT lubes for pan lubing is Commercial, and cut the bullets out when the lube cools just right.  If you wait till the block gets real cool they are hard to remove.

My preferred method of hand lubing, by far is just wipe in on with the index finger of your master hand just prior to seating the bullet in the case.  LBT Blue Soft is the easiest lube of the LBT line to apply this way.  It is in fast the easiest of any lube I've tried for hand lubing.

Large grooves as needed for black powder work fine with smokeless, and I always cut dual purpose molds this way if the customer tells me he want's to use both types of powder.
