They've taken it down for maintenance.  It was online for a little while yesterday.  I'm pretty sure this was just a small maintenance job.

I believe a server also crashed right before the planned work was to be done.

I think you're right because they're still down.  I wish they would hurry up and fix it.  I'm having withdrawls ::) .

I can get to the home page on my computer at work, but nothing past that.  I thought it was a font error on this antiquated POS I use, but maybe not.  My home PC died, and I'm like duckbill............withdrawal sucks!

Got the following from Gun Junkie of Marlin site:

I have no clue why we are down again.. Monday was because of server crash and we came back up... This new downtime I have no clue and haven't heard from anyone yet.. Hopefully we can get it back soon and transferred to new server to prevent this from happening.. we were actually in the process to start the move when the first crash happened.. I will let you know as I know.. Sorry I can't tell you more.. Gunjunkie

Probably by the end of this month all problems will be taken care of and stability for that site will be obtained and maintained. That's all I can say for now.

Don, levergunluvers had to change their name to levergunlovers.  The difference is the spelling.

On Marlin Owners, the owners are trying to switch servers they tell me.  This was after they installed the latest upgrades and patches from their host provider.  Like everyone else, I am missing the site as well.  Bill is usually right so hang in there folks.  I imagine Bill thanks God every day for Matt who does all the technical work to keep GBO up and running.

Marlin Owner's site will be moved to the GBO server most likely this coming week. I can't give you any specfics of just when as that has not yet been worked out. I think Matt has all the data he needs to make it happen now and so I'm reasonably sure it will happen this coming week.

Once the move to the new GBO servers is completed the next thing scheduled is to convert it from the phpbb format that is so prone to being hacked to the same SMF software we use here at GBO. Once those actions are completed you should be able to expect Marlin Owner's to have the same rock solid performance that GBO has.

I wish I could give you firm dates on when all this will be completed but right now I cannot. But rest assured the end of the problems they've been plagued with are nearing an end finally.

We will just be hosting it. We have no ZERO nada ownership interest or control in that site. Beyond what I've told you I'm not free to tell you more.

The Marlin Owner's site is now moved to the GBO server and is now running the same SMF software we run here at GBO. It should now be about as stable as the GBO site is. I can't necessarily say "as stable" since Dave Williams the new owner is responsible for the upkeep as opposed to Matt but so far we've really had nearly no trouble with SMF and our server so Dave shouldn't have much to do.

Matt will continue to tweak it a bit in the next week or two before turning it completely over to the site owners I believe but you shouldn't have anymore problems with it crashing.

Thanks for giving out the update Bill.  I cannot tell you how much we appreciate you and Matt giving us sound advice and a sound business deal.  This new server and format are just what the doctor ordered for our forum.  I did a mass PM to all registered members and we got over 800 folks on line that evening and is good to see lots of our old members posting again.  They love the new format as much as Gunjunkie and I do.

Thanks again,
