Hammer won't completely drop

As a new Contender owner with barrel fever I've been in the acquisition mode. Some barrels have split lugs while others are solid. I recently purchased a used 44 mag barrel with split lug from a reputable dealer. When you pull the trigger the hammer will not completely drop to engage the firing pin. I checked the four barrels I have and this is the only one exhibiting this problem. Is there anything I can do to correct this problem or should I contact TC or the dealer?

  If you are handy with tools you can fix it your self. If you have another frame you can try it on that and see if it helps. I have Carpal tunnel problems so I sent my bareel and frame back to TC for them to swap out the lugs. that was several years ago , so it would be best to call them for instructions.

This is part of the safety design of the contender, and is very commonly associated with incomplete lockup.

Investigate this first.

You were correct. A call to Ed's TC's, a dremel tool and the problem has been corrected. Many thanks.
