AKbuilder, I am having my .45 ACP made up by a custom gunsmith using a SS rifle blank. It took a while to decide which barrel blank I wanted to use, how to set it up (length, material, twist, muzzle brake or not) and after looking through the offerings and discussing it with the gunsmith I came to a decision on the specs, including it's final finish. I do not know where he got the blank but if you are interested send me an e-mail and I will get you the info. You can contact him and discuss the availability of blanks. He is a good guy and I am sure would speak with you about them. Send me an e-mail address anyway and I will link you to the sight and the thread about my .45 ACP Handi project...<><....:)

jandbj,
Thanks for the link, I am still a few months away from starting that project.  I will put it on the want list, I have a few other barrel projects in line first.

Thanks,
Paul

I got my reamer today, I had already made a rougher, so I cut most of the chamber, I am off the the store to buy some factory ammo to cut the chamber to fit.  I will post some pictures later.  Larry

Worst part is that tomorrow I leave on a ship for the Equator, could be 3 weeks and could be 40 days, so I will be sitting there wondering if it will shoot or if I have to make a grape stake out of it.  Larry

No, not a Survivor contestant Tim, but I get the feeling he's no Pollywog, but a trusty Shellback, a true Son of Neptune...as well as a great machinist, gunsmith, and photographer par Excellance!!!

Stay safe and dry my friend, we all look forward to your return....<><....:)

I have a couple of .223 ejectors on the way, I will have to wait to cut the ejector slot when I get them.  I finished the chamber, I had to spend a couple of extra bucks because the only reamer on the shelf had a floating pilot, but it did cut a nice chamber.  For a few days I will claim the only 17 Remington Fireball Handi on the planet.  Larry
