Model 700 SPS 223 Remington for 2008
« on: March 01, 2008, 07:02:16 PM »
According to the 2008 Remington catalog. the 700 SPS 223 Remington is now available with a 20" barrel and a 1 in 9 1/8" twist.
Local dealer doesn't know, or seem interested in finding out, if they are available.   Just looking for a short, handy SPS for the 65-77 grain 223's.

The 700 SPS Tactical rifles in 223/308 were available from Remington as new releases for 2007.  I've had mine, a 223, for almost a year now. It's a Remington Premier Dealer Exclusive rifle according to Remington, but they are not hard to find.  MI VHNTR

I saw the SPS Tactical but was looking for the regular SPS that has a 20" sporter weight barrel with a 1 in 9 twist.  Don't really want the target weight barrel right now.

If I can't find one I may have to settle for a Stevens center feed 223, as they have the 1 in 9 twist that I am looking for.

LOL!  I am thinking, that's not a bad recipe (don't knock the mushrat!!) but what happened to the 700?? Did anyone end up buying the regular 700 sps in 223 in the lightweight barrel??
