Getting ready to do some Four-Wheelin'
« on: July 09, 2003, 11:24:54 AM »
I have the "normal" gun cart, two large rear wheels and a 4x4 post at the front.  Works OK but I'm bored so decided to add a couple of 6" wheels to the front post, one on each side.
And, and this is scary cause it makes sense, decided to cut a brand new 4x4 just for the wheels.  This way if it doesn't work I can put the first one back on and be no worst off than when I started.
Got it all cut and drilled.  Stained it and it's drying right now.  Will mount it tomorrow or the next day and see how it works.  I know that for big bumps the wheels will be a might small but I can tilt the cart back as I normally do and solve this problem.
I could always add another pair of 16" ones to the front and have the makings of a wagon cart but weight becomes a problem.  Right now I can easily lift it into the truck bed.  Too much more and I'll need a fork lift.
I'll keep you posted...
