New Brunswick Fall success rates
« on: March 03, 2008, 03:10:08 PM »
I have never hunted fall in NB. What is probability of seeing a bear.

I have 4 outfitters narrowed down and am in the process of checking availability. I have the last week of OCT planned. Is this time of year a waste of time or can a good outfitter put us on bear.

I have done well in Spring, but hate the bugs.

Are you from Canada ? If not, wht not hunt Maine.I've been to New Brunswick once in the spring and this fall will be my 3rd time to Maine in the fall.I think eastern Maine around Wesley or Houlton is as good or better than NB and North-Western Maine is the best.
Just my humble opinion.

P.S. i think you'll find the 1st two weeks are generally the better weeks for scoring on a bear.I'm don't know when fall bear starts in NB.Try to book the 1st or 2nd week is possible.

Early NB season is best.  Took one in the Fall season and one in the Spring.  Going to ME this year - Oxbow Lodge.

I've been to New Brunswick for fall bear on a few occasions. We hunted with the Slipp Bros. out of Hoyt. We killed bears each time and there were NO bugs. The weather was always perfect - not hot & not cold.

Food was excellent and accommodations better than most. I think they get $1600 for the week, all inclusive.
