E-Z pull trigger assist
« on: March 04, 2008, 05:06:08 AM »
My local gun shop just started selling the e-z pull trigger assist, they have a test trigger set up so you can pull the trigger with the assist or without and i'll tell ya it made the trigger pull alot lighter, Has anyone tried one on a handi?  they are ugly, but im thinking about getting one for my hornet.

They've been discussed on other forums before, for less than $35 you can get a nice trigger job done at H&R IF you have to pay for it, otherwise it's just shipping. I have apprehensions about clamping it to the plastic trigger guard too. ???

I put one on a Mossberg 22 mag rifle. It had a terrible trigger and no way of getting it lighter. I bought one and put it on. It does not leave much room for your trigger finger, forget wearing gloves. It may give you more room with a different design. It does clamp onto the trigger guard with set screws and will mar it. The one on the Mossberg is thicker than the ones on the Handis. It did bring down the trigger pull, quit a bit. It was also smoother, but put considerably more creep into it. I think I shoot a little better with it than with out, but would not put it on any hunting rifle where a quick shot is needed or on a gun that you can get the trigger down to decent pull with out it. Did I mention that it will flop forward and block your finger from entering the trigger area? I guess that is why I would not have it on a hunting gun of any kind. Just my 2 cents

Looks like it plugs the hole up and with gloves even worse. I think I'll continue honing my honing skills. Kurt

All of the trigger jobs I've had them do have been in the 3-3½lb range.

It looks to me that you are gaining a lighter trigger pull at the expense of a long trigger pull and you also have trigger movement after the gun has fired.

Tim, were those trigger jobs done by H&R? Did you have to specify the amount of pull you wanted to them, if so? I would like a trigger job down to that level but have no idea where it is now.

Yes, H&R will do 3-3½lbs, that's what they've done for me, but be aware they've been charging if it's already lighter than about 5-6lbs, $20 isn't bad tho for a 3½lb trigger.  ;)
