The new Vaqero is not as strong as the old ones as far as shooting the real heavy loads. They are still a lot stronger than a Colt SAA. Unless you want to shoot 325's at 1200 fps, I wouldn't worry about it. Hope this helps.

The New Vaquero uses the same cylinder same size cylinder frame as the 50th Ann .357 Blackhawks did.  These mid-size models aren't for the "Ruger only" loadings.  use them with SAAMI spec ammo only.
The Vaquero (preceeded the NV) was built on the lg frame and used the same cylinder as the BH's and SBH's continue to use.  These large frame models are plenty strong for the hot "Ruger only" loadings.

I believe that the first 2 respondents misunderstood your question. The new .45 Colt Blackhawks do not have the NEW VAQUERO frame. They have the same Blackhawk frame that all the New Models have had since 1973, with the exception of the 50th Anniversary .357 Mag. flat tops.

Thanks a ton for the help guys. I was thinking that the b-hawks were still unchanged but the dealer was sure convincing. now I have a .45 colt on the way. 45/8" on this one. Kinda like waiting for Christmas. Going to get some ammo loaded up this week. thanks again. take care. dave
