Trigger Job at NEF??
« on: March 05, 2008, 09:51:14 AM »
I've got a receiver at NEF for some barrels, They got it Monday.  I never had any real complaints about the trigger, but I'm going to use it on a .22-250.  Should I call and ask them to tune it up while it is there?  Does anyone know if it will greatly affect the turnaround time?

I included a letter asking to have it done to mine. It did not seem slow the process down. Most of the time is waiting in line to get your barrel/s fitted. I would think that they could do it in a matter of 1/2 Hour or less. They do hundreds a year, they get pretty good at it. There are three gunsmiths that do the barrel fitting and trigger jobs. I would call CS and see if you can get it done while there.

One point to make is that not all trigger jobs are FREE! I just sent in my handi for two additional barrels (.22/250 and .44Mag) I asked about the free trigger job. I was advised that if your current trigger pull is 6 pounds or less the trigger job is not free. It costs $20.00. Still reasonable. They will perform a free trigger job on those that exceed 6 pounds, if you request it.
