Omega Z5 or X7???

 Monday morning gonna buy an omega. I really like the feel of the X7 ,but have heard a few bad reviews about accuracy. Wondering if I should stick with the Z5. Any one out there got the X7 some reviews would be helpfull. Thanks  Jay

It's the same barrel just shorter.  My X7 is plenty accurate.  There are inaccurate individuals from every brand and model, but I'd guess it's usually a load selection issue.

The other possibility is that the X7 is marketed as the "mountain" Omega, being short and light with open sights for Colorado's elk regulations.  However, Omegas in general are reported not to shoot conicals well due to the QLA (sabots do fine, I always wondered why this would be so but believe it from some reliable individuals).  This could lead to reports of bad accuracy due to people trying to shoot conicals out of them and being disappointed.

I would go with the X7 and shoot a sabot out of it. I have always liked the shorter over all length and how it feels and fits me. It is lighter and I think it will do just fine for shots out to 150+ yards.

Actually I have only had one Omega and I didn't even shoot it. My brother has it now with a Nikon Omega scope and he uses it. Ill have to ask him what size groups its shooting. I probably won't be able to reply until until Sunday because I am going to be out of town tomorrow.

The Omega's are like Encore's and my 45cal shoots very very good groups 1.4inches at 100 yards. My others shoot ok and will go out to 200yards.
