Mueller Long Range Scope?
« on: March 06, 2008, 09:14:58 AM »
So when is Mueller going to come out with a Long Range target scope? Maybe with fine crosshairs, and a 1/8 MOA dot? Or fine mil-hash lines. Never?

That is a question that i have been wondering myself, I have two of the 8.5x25x44 mill dots which are good scopes, they would be great scopes if they would make them with a target dot, I just cant see spending the extra money for the eraticator when i have no need for an illuminated dot on a long range scope.

Non-illuminated would be good. Put the cost of illumination into the glass, or a zero stop.

Its something were working on right now but I cant give out many details at this time because some things may change based on the beta testing and design.. I can say it will be a 8-32, glass etched, non-illuminated, fine cross hair with target dot and if things go as planned it will have one very unique feature not found in many variable power target scopes. By the way, before you ask, we already have beta testers, lol ..   Its still in the early stages so I wouldnt expect a release for at least 90-120 days and maybe longer.

Is this scope being shown on some of the flash advertisements on other forums? I saw one on another forum that is a non illuminated adjustable objective varmint scope, and has a bigger objective than the 8.5x25x44. I dont see the scope on the websight though......... ??? if im wrong then excuse my ignorance.

If you mean the Mueller banner ad, it's similar to the one that displays at the top of this forum with the gold colored scope which doesn't exist either, none of the scopes are shown together, so there's no perspective to size, and with the scope angled towards the viewer, the objective appears slightly bigger than it really is,  it's one of those optical dellusions.  ;D  Mueller makes other scopes besides the 8.5-25X Tactical that aren't illuminated, the APV, TacII and the Extreme, the one you're looking at is probably the APV since it has an AO.  ;)

I like the sounds of this new scope. One thing I hope they have considered doing is moving the AO adjustment to the side like many others have. It sure makes things easier. Dale

I'd like to see a 8.5-25x44 with a dot the size of the Eradicator and 1/4"click adjustments. My problem with the Eradicator is I don;t need the illuminated reticle or the 500mm objective. Otherwise my silver Eradicator is a great scope  PS 8-32x44 like what I mentioned will work great for me

I'd like to see 2 models with a new ballistic reticle--maybe a 4-12X and 8.5-25X, side parallax, low profile tgt. turrets, and a tree reticle system with increasingly finer stadia lines the further down u go, similar to a shorter Horus Vison system with maybe 2 inch per hundred yd. line stadia (not MOA, and no dots) down to maybe 15 IPHY. Call it the Tactical Hunter's reticle/scope.

I agree here.
If I do need/want a illum. reticle then I want it to be inconspicuous and not a huge honking knob all up in my eyebell. Though I understand the financial reasons for the big knobs, as they are plentiful and several manufactures use them.
Just a clean dependable side focus, higher powered scope with fitting reticles and good glass for folks that want to shoot farther but can't afford the big boys.
Simple.......in theory  ;D 8)

Yeah Tim thank you for that i knew they had a NZ dealer but mate there is no way I'm paying that outrageous price for it from NZ 269.90 NZD = 221.472 AUD for 1 Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 AO to me door when if the factory offered international orders would only cost me 160.00 USD = 167.528 AUD to me door...   that's a difference of $53.94AUD. I just get so pissed off that Australian's cant order stuff from the USA without haven to get a Third Party to Order them for them and then send it to them.. I think American Company's need to wake up to them self's and see that Us Aussies do spend alot of Money in the USA and they need to offer postage to Australia cause stuff in Australia is too damn expensive. thank you very much to everyone who offered to be the middle man but Ive bought a scope off eBay that should do the trick..

MUELLER YA LOOSING A LOT OF SALES NOT SENDING TO AUSTRALIA...

It was past my 90 days, based on an email I sent to Mueller in November, when I posted back in March. Sounds like it's vaporware to me.

We have already tested a few demos but they didn't meet my expectations and I refuse to release something like that so we are currently tweaking and improving some things.  This scope is way behind schedule and I apologize, next time I will bite my tongue so we don't end up in this situation again...  I have no control over the design time so I'm in the same boat as everyone and just waiting and hoping things start progressing a little quicker.. It will happen, its just a matter of time and unfortunately I have no control over that time.

Thanks

Is there a possibility you will offer a Mil-Dot or some type of multiple aiming point reticle ?
