Harris Bipod on Pro Hunter Flex-Tech rifle forend

I am thinking about upgrading to the Pro Hunter swing hammer and Pro Hunter Flex-Tech forend and stock for my older blued Encore frame.

Has anyone tried to install a Harris bipod to the new Pro Hunter Flex-Tech rifle forend.  I was wondering if there is a problem because of the swivel stud angle.

If there is a problem, maybe I will upgrade the stock, but stick to the plain black synthetic rifle forend for bipod use.

Swivel angle not a problem but will not work with out a shim on front side. I've made one out of wood for a model. I'll be making one out of plastic rubber lined to protect forend. So you can make it work if you really like the Pro Hunter forend.

Somewhere I read the Pro Hunter forend swivel screws have been know to come out under pressure. I don't remember if it was normal sling pressure or a Harris type bi-pod.

I recently drilled the forend and installed an additional swivel stud to attach the bipod too.  I thought about adding the wedge to the original stud to make the factory one work but thought this would be more solid.  So far it seems to work very well!  I'd say TC should have thought that forend out a little better.  If I had it to do again I'd just get the original Encore forend.


Edit:  I was looking more at the forened, and now  realized you asked about the swing hammer too.  I've actaully not got a chance to use the swing hammer on my Pro Hunter.  As soon as I got it home I tried to adjust it and the screw that holds the hammer in place, stripped out.  I never bothered with it any more after that, just added the extension and have no complaints at all.
