Sure, so can you, just have your FFL send a copy of their license to the selling dealer so it's on file when you order.

Grafs doesn't sell TC frames, just barrels, TC only sells to distributors. Midsouth sells to anyone, ships to FFLs only just like any online dealer than sells firearms.

grafs certainly do sell frames all sorts of them but they cannot get just the frames minus the woodwork. go to their website and look at accesseries. my cost on a g-2 with walnut frame is 294.00 but i dont want the woodwork.

i called them a long time ago as well as t/c they wont just sell the metal makes no sense but that the way it is. if you can get me a code nr. for just the frame only i would appreciate it very much.

They may sell them in their store as many retailers do, but they don't list them online. I've seen no source that sells a new frame alone, just with stocks.  ;)

Without a barrel - no problem.   But not even when they offered the flat side Classic Contender frames as an upgrade or for engraving could you buy a bare frame without furniture included.

I well remember when the Encore first came out and Fred at Bullberry got 80 of the earliest frames.    He tried hard to get them as bare frames to also get orders for his custom furniture to be used on them.   All were delivered from TC complete with factory furniture.    One frame in that order sneaked in with exhibition factory wood on it though - that's the frame Fred set aside and gave me.

Don't see what the problem is though.   ???   It's not hard at all to just resell factory furniture if you don't want it and recover some of the frames cost.

I'm pretty sure that both Ed's TCs and SSK Industries both sponsors of this site will sell you bare frame with no grips/fore end/stock. Ed likely can sell you new or used that way. SSK will likely have only new.

well if you have custom stocks and forends its just one more thing to do. for the guys like m@m and others it seems it would be nice for them to be able to purchase the action alone. you can certainly do it with remington, savage and others sans wood. whats funny you can buy the stock and forend!!

where would the cheapest place be to get a stainless encore or prohunter frame with the furniture? I don't have a preference, just needs to be stainless steel. It can have wood, flex-tech, etc. I'm going to get a .270 or 7mag barrel for it. Also, where would the cheapest place to get a whole rifle in stainless? thanks!

I would check with Ed's TCs.  If you have a good FFL to ship to that doesn't fleece you then he is about the cheapest.

I ordered a G2 frame and it was received by my FFL.  However, as I bought it as a pistol, I needed to register it in my county (NY).  The deputy county clerk who handles the pistol permit info would not add it to my permit, since I did not have a barrel, and therefore she could not put a caliber on the permit.  After about 5 minutes of going back and forth, she said that I may put in a letter to the county judge (who approves the permits in NY) and ask for an exemption.  I did that and in 3 days it was all cleared up.  The first barrel I looked for was a .22 21" match, however I found a 10" .410/45 LC first, so I had to go back in a couple of weeks anyway to put the barrel on.  Kind of funny how it worked out.

Yes you can order a frame only.

If I may suggest something??  IMO the Encores need a trigger job.  A good thing to do is order your frame through the gunsmith who is going to do your trigger.  Even if he is a dollar or two higher, it will save you shipping money, and may be even transfer fees.  I bought two this way, it worked great for me, and it saved me a few bucks, and I did not have to hassle with shipping parts all over.  All I had to do was wait for an action with a perfect trigger.  Tom.
