Why doesn't Handi make a 32-20?

I would think it would be a natural. I for one would love to see them bring one out. It would be a perfect small game/ varmint gun with a 20" barrel and those nice laminate stocks. Plus I could buy two barrels one to leave as 32-20 and the other for .303brit. ;D
It would really be the cats meow with a heavy barrel.

I think that would be because in the whole wide world there is next to no interest in the round and they figure they'd sell a dozen or less and set holding the rest until the metal turns to dust.  :o Marlin tried a run of them for CAS and even those didn't go over very well I don't think. It's a nice enough old round but it's dead as a doornail and there just is no interest in it's revival. We all have our personal favorites we'd love to see make a come back but for the most part we're out on a limb with no one else with us and it's just not economically feasible to supply them to us.

Mine is a .25-20 that ain't gonna happen either.

25-20 would be nice to. :(
The problem with CAS was the 32 in a hangun was a bit light for some of the targets. Even the 38 can be to light if you load it down to much. The price was another thing the average Joe didnt want to buy a 32-20 cowboy at almost $500 when they could get a 336 in 30-30 or 35rem for under $400. The cowboy is a nice gun dont get me wrong but it was a little pricey to buy for the kids or as some thing most folks would want to drag around the woods. I think a Handi would have a chance in 32-20 at say the average price for a barrel is around $90 to get from their barrel program. I for one would have no problems getting a youth model for my boys and a full size version for myself at the $280 price that I can get a new one for in these parts. Just my thoughts.

The other problem with the Marlin they made for CAS was that it had microgroove rifling. It didn't shoot cast bullets worth a dang. As for 32-20, I love the round, I have one of the few Dan Wesson's made in 32-20, I have another pistol called a SSP-86, it was a single shot that I used in the unlimited class IHMSA. Won me a couple of state championships in my class with it. And I have my great grandfather's Winchester 92 short rifle in 32-20. I have been looking for them to maybe make one in .32 H&R Mag. then I could just rechamber it to 32-20. And Bill, the .25-20 is a great round too, as well as the .218 bee, but we are not going to see to many of them around.

I also love the 32-20. At the current time I have an original WIN 1873 full oct., an original WIN. 1885 low wall full oct.,an old 12" TC bull, and I also have one of the few DAN WESSONS.
It a great round.

I've got an old Remington rolling block in 32-20 and the last time i went to get ammo the guy said load up there wont be any more,he made me a deal on what he had left and i got the dies to reload. Great round for anything up to and including deer

Well,

On this rifle they would not shoot, tried .311 .312 and .313 sized bullets in it, #2 alloy, wheel weight and lynotype. None of them shot worth a dang out of it. I have another Microgroove in .41 mag that loves cast bullets. I wonder if it has to do with the bore size in conjunction with the microgroove barrels. Larger ones seem to shoot fine, but not the small bores I have dealt with. Have you gotten to shoot a small bore Marlin with a microgroove barrel and gotten good accuracy out of it? This one would shoot jacketed bullets just fine. If it had shot cast as good as it shoot the jacketed bullets I would have kept it.

Answer   -  yes I have, I currently have a couple of them, they are VERY accurate with lead bullets and they are both smallbores (.22's)....<><....:)

Hey, there's a local dealer here clearing out a bunch of odd stuff, I'm positive there's a bunch od 32-20 brass in there.  If anyone's interested I'll have another look for more info for ya.

I just read an article in one of the magazines I subscribe to about a new cartridge.  Seems like every month someone invents a new cartridge and firearm to go along with it.  At any rate this new cartridge is called a .327.  At first I thought it was made for a chevy engine, but upon reading the article it is a 32 H&R Magnum with the case srtetched 1/8" and loaded such that the power range was a near duplicate of the .357 Magnum.

For those looking for a nice little plinking round this seems like it would do well......of course we already have the .357 ::)
