Stunning political tour de force propels Spitzer to top
« on: March 11, 2008, 02:16:47 AM »
I expect the recent scandal will put Elliot Spitzer in good position for a future presidential run. It would ruin his career if he were a Republican, but since he's not, then it can only help him greatly.

I know if I "stepped out" on my wife she wouldn't be standing next to me, she'd be standing over me......and I wouldn't be in to good of shape either.  Maybe I'm old fashion (at 33) but marriage is sacred, no matter who you are.  I just don't get some people.  ???

He's done.  I think it matters more what you profess yourself to be, than what your party is.  Bill Clinton survived because the people that voted for him already knew he was a sleaze.  Spitzer ran as a moral crusader, the people who voted for him care about his personal values... His career will be over in hours, not days.

As an attorney he is an officer of the court.  In this case the Courts of New York State.  Expect that it will come our that he was working "Under Cover" on behalf of the citizens of New York. :o

Yes, your probably right.....an on going.....long term "investigation".......we really owe the man for preforming such a service apparently at his own expense and at great personal risk (no protection) I might add......... :-* :-* :-*

dukklr x 2.  It was over early this afternoon.  His legally blind Lt Governor will be sworn in as New York State's first black governor in history, on Monday.

These are indeed historical times.  Spitzer was brought down by his own arrogance and greed for power.  No loss.  Clinton would not have been any loss either but his infidelity wasn't anywhere as serious as money laundering and interstate trafficking in prostiution, all at the taxpayor's expense for his travel and that of the entourage that accompanies him everywhere. Clinton, even though president, basically did a 'bad thing' but never admitted to it .

ncsurveyor - ya think?  Mikey.

:) smile because of all of the attention it has brought back on Bill Clinton, he is getting some special attention this year, and I would not be surprised that he gets a little stage fright during the campaign.  Or as a late night comic said, to the effect, I thought Bill Clinton made it legal.

I have no personal experience, but I wouldn't keep a taxi waiting either.  ;)

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever been in a taxi......

Seriously though, I read the indictment and the way she (the call girl) speaks (as transcribed), she doesn't sound like she's overflowing with tenderness or that she is some secret source of "the force".  Having saw her picture on the news, I can say, sure, she's loaded for bear, but I guess I just don't see the need.

Kind of like renting a custom rifle, when you already have a Savage in the gun cabinet   :o

Better count his stars his wife is standing by him.

Or maybe she plans on running for governor later...........
