Sounds like you did okay then.  What type of stock came with it?  I saw one in a local shop about a year ago and passed it by.  It had a nice laminate stock on it.  But at that time I had only briefly heard of a 28 ga and didn't think much of it.  But after listening to some of your stories and others, I am keeping my eyes open.

My local dealer's stock has been dwindling the last few months.  I was thinking he might be going out of business, but he says no.  He used to always have at least one NEF/H&R in there.  I stopped by last week and he didn't have any.  I'll give him another couple of weeks and check again.  Kurt, for the price of gas it doesn't pay me to drive up there.  It hit $3.29 two days ago and now it is down to $3.23.  But I will keep my eyes open wherever I wander.

Doublebass, that is a very nice looking gun.

My is standard stock  It may well end up with a lam. stock or the walnut stock like the tdc. the barrel is heavier than  the older 28 I have, It is heavier than a old 20 I have . I have to pattern it, try it with round balls give it a general going over before it  gets the hunting stamp of approval

Hey plumberroy, Good for you man! I sure do like my 28ga. Its the best shotgun I've ever owned! For a fact the most accurate shooting shotgun for me. I like that they have Harrington&Richardson on the receiver instead of pardner. The stock on my 28 fits just right for me, I might add a sling. Great gun, glad you got it, and good hunting with it. scout4<><

I never understood the 28 gauge until I bought one. Now I'm hooked, I want to
do some partridge hunting this fall with it.

I never even thought about the 28 but
when I bought my SB2 receiver I had it shipped to my local FFL. He asked what I was
doing with it so I told him I was sending it in for a .357 barrel. He highly recommended
I also get a 28 gauge while it was at H&R. He had many good things to say about the 28
so I followed his advice and couldn't be happier with it. I added the BC stocks later on
and those are the icing on the cake.

Actually when I first got the the original one I have I did not like it. the short striaght  stock made it hard for me to use  Luckily I tried a longer stock before I gave up on it and traded it off with a longer stock I could hit with it . so I ordered the synthetic stock and forearm and the rest is history
Now I have 2
