KROCHUS: You really want to change to the barrel band. The one that attaches to the end of the forearm is for the 7400, Automatic. If you continue to use that one, eventually you will have the problem I did. I bent the tube that the slide works on, it is not designed to take the stress of a sling. Had to send it back to Remington to get the tube replaced.
They make all sizes of barrel bands, just have to measure yours and get the right one. Uncle Mikes makes them in sizes to fit .22RFs all the way up to 12GA. I just had to go to Midway to find the right one for my TCR, none of the local shops had the one I needed. Measure your barrel diameter, then go on line to Midway's site and you can find the one you need and get the part number. Then you can order it through Midway or take the number and size to your local distributor and order it. I put the split band on my 760, after going through the hassle of getting the gun fixed, just one day it got real hard to pump, never knew when I damaged it. But Remington sent me a scathing letter to tell me I was using the wrong sling swivel. At the time they sent me the part number so I could order it from my local vendor. Just happened the gunsmith in town had the right barrel band in stock. He said he had seen several Remington pumps damaged like that.
