Bowhunter, every year about this time they (writers in the trapping mags) tell us that the outlook is good and that prices MAY go up, but its usually not the case. I have never trapped for the money, although a good fur check keeps the wife happy for a while and helps out with the Christmas shopping. I just like to be able to get out of the house whenever possible and the wife won't follow me into the woods (my sancutary), unless theres a shopping mall close by. I hope the fur primes up well this year also, if not I just wait until it does. I target everything that is legal to trap here in Ohio and even go after skunks for the skunk essence. I always carry my bow with me just in case, espeacially in the first part of the season during the rut. I have seen bucks do some crazy stuff. I had 2 bucks run up on me while I was driving in a trap stake. Unfortunitly (spelling?) my bow was about ten feet behind me. They must have thought I was two bucks spareing. I have to go, will talk to you later, Mike.
