I didn't see it in FAQ

Why does NEF request that you send the butt stock in when ordering a new barrel?I can understand the fore stock being needed and obviously the action.Not sending the butt sock cuts shipping costs in half. ???

I won't send a stock, I order one at the same time since I only have entire H&Rs, saves shipping cost. But others only send the frame to prevent damage to their stock, others send a beater stock. They'll still fit the barrel and I believe they still test fire it.  ;)
