H1000 and the 338RUM
« on: March 15, 2008, 10:50:30 AM »
I loaded my Rem. Sendero SF with 98.5 grains of H1000 under 225 grain Hornady Interlock bullets and the load chronographed 3250 to 3300 ft/sec and the accuracy was great.  This rifle generally shoots one ragged hole at 100 yds, and though this load didn't match the accuracy of some previous loads it did cloverleaf them.  I think this powder is a keeper for the large case loads.  I have tried R22 and IMR7828 in different cartridges and the results were not good and I had just about given up on the slow powders until trying H1000.
