Original Barnes X Bullets
« on: March 18, 2008, 02:36:13 PM »
I still have a few of these left.  A friend of mine tells me that it is unsafe to load them at powder weights listed in manuals.  He says the increased bearing surface causes pressure to get too high.  Anyone ever heard this?

I've loaded them in 280, 7mm Rem mag, and 7mm-08.  I haven't had problems and they sure do kill deer (took two doe with one shot this year).

The powder weights for the new TSX or MRX shouldn't be used for the original, and for that reason, increased bearing surface causing more pressure.  But any data that is listed for the barnes x original should still be just fine.
