Just got it today! Thanks Dom, Beautiful work as always!!! I asked Dom for a different bore size than the regular models, and it's perfect!!! Hope to get some smoke and fire pics this weekend,and do some target shooting. Anybody care to tell the caliber from the pics?

You do know that you are responsible for me getting the "Dom" GB Dictator. Now I have to figure out how to get one of these into the house unnoticed. I assume that it functions just like his larger ones, with regards to recoil?

You could always use the magic trunk.....

A friend had a wife who was not in favor of his spending money on his collecting........ he would bring his purchases in an put them in an old trunk he kept cluttered with
his old junk then weeks after the gun show was dim in her memory he would go to look for some tool or what not in the trunk...... and low and behold he would exclaim "I forgot I had that" or I've been looking for years
for this! and it was in the bottom of the trunk the whole time"....... She confided in me one day that she knew about the "magic trunk" latter she struck a deal with him that what ever he spent on his collection,
she could spend for something either for herself or the house. fortunately they had a good marriage. Me I am happy to say I have a wife who likes guns not too keen on cannons....... doesn't want one of those big hulking
things in the yard.......... but I'm wearing her down.

Oh I should say Congrats on the cannon Lance, nice little gun, now you'll have to get a WWI tin hat to go with it!

Spuddy, El Caz is the reason i got a French 75, Blame him! OH YES, it functions just like the big ones. I think you should try Karbar2's method of sneaking it in, i don't have that problem,been single past couple of years. El Caz should be worried about Double D Taking his COOL LOOKING French 75........

Alright you guys caught me. Instead of applying reason and logic to the board rules, I applied envy and lust...it was a weak moment...I'll go drop a few Rand in the poor box.

We are always interested in how our pre 1899 artillery was deployed post 1899. And after all is an ARTILLERY Luger....the basic design of which some think precedes its P09 introduction....The C96 definitely does.

Okay enough humility and repentance...Lance if and when I hold a GBO Cannon Shoot and you bring your 75, don't turn your back, because I will swipe it...it is so cool!!!!

Well Here's one I can post ...... it's a pre 1898 Krupp bag gun fired with a friction primer, the owner found it locally it had been out in front of an old hotel he bought it from one of the employee's who had it at his house, after the wheels rotted away, it is believed this was brought back from the Spanish American war. though there is little to prove it just old timers stories. The wheels are new manufacture by one of the Amish craftsmen in N.C. the seats on either side of the gun need to be reproduced but the main thing is it is a shooter. Some of you may have seen this on one of the History Channel's program where it was used in a demonstration I forget which episode.

If allowed I could post the photo of the German Artillery park, the two cannon in the foreground are pre-1898 the rest are 1903 to 1918 vintage registered DD's....... I'll leave that to DD to say...

The first is a French Hotchkiss on a U.S. carriage, it is still a little rough and the owner is
in the process of restoring it, the third gun in the row is the Krupp bag gun, like the early days of
Revolutionary war and Civil war re-enacting there has been a little liberty taken as to what would be
fielded. I doubt the Germans got their hands on many (if any) Hotchkiss guns or used krupp bag guns
during the war.

I am including this photo as it shows the bag gun in action, it has just been fired by the owner.

Well it's going to be hard to top Karbar2's excellent pics! Anyway, I wanted to know what to expect from this small French 75. I'm just experimenting with this cannon, and i'm well pleased with it's first day out. I set a target at 100 feet,and picked the charge of 75grains of FFG Goex,the projectile was a 460grain .577 Minnie. I have all this on DVD too,but for now some still pics will have to do. After laying on the ground and walking around and "eyeballing", the first shot impressed me so much i had to jump and shout! With some kind of sights for this cannon, i think it will be Super Impressive. 2 pics,look for the "hole"
