Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Tim,    I think we are going to have to dis-allow any Hydro-pnuematic recoil reduction devices at the Second Annual New River Valley Cannon Shoot this summer!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D
Lance might make us all look sillly!!!  IMAGINE what this Reb could do if he had some good sights on this gun!  How about oranges on sticks at 200 feet, Lance??  Fantastic.

Impressed,

Mike and Tracy
Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!

On the contrary, we should open a special category of competition for it!

It mearly maintains our standards of accuracy expectations!

Awesome! That thing shoots real nice. Congratulations Lance, that is a really nice cannon you've got there.

I am curious, what is the bore? is it a true 0.580 or 0.592 to allow proper windage?

I'm not sure [drill bit is at the shop] but I think the size bit I used is 37/64" which is  0.5781.   Nice shooting Lance!

I want to Thank Everyone for all the kind remarks, and i just have to single out Intoodeep! That's a good one,in my book it ranks up there with Tropico's "photo" of the pirate hat added to the pic of Terry C in his biker gear........ I measured the bore before any shooting and it's a nice smooth .580, the .577 Minie's work perfect! The Minie Bullets i'm using have 3 grease grooves filled with Remington Wonder Lube, the bullets also have a deep hollow base that expands on firing to make things even tighter!  If i can figure out some kind of sights, like Mike and Tracy's scope rail, minus the scope, the 75's "sheild" kinda gets in the way. Anyway, i'll try Oranges on a stick at 200ft, during the Second Annual New River Valley Cannon and Mortar Shoot.

Lance probably needs sights so the holes will be touching. And he will need sights to shoot oranges off of sticks at 200 yds. ;D ;D ;D

200 ft. !!!!!! Yeah, I guess that 200 yds. would be a bit much. I shoulda gone back and read that. My mistake. Give me 20 lashes with a wet noodle. At our cannon shoots here in Northern California 200 yds is the range used by the rifled guns and the smallest ones of those are 20mm guns. They use iron or scope sights.
