I was wondering what kind of metal is used to make SS floor plate/trigger-guard assemblies for SS model 700's? The reason I'm asking is because it must be different than the blue models. tried to put a composite stock from a stainless model onto my blued one, in place f the wood, but the trigger-guard/floor plate was to big to fit the slot. Unless the coating is that much thicker!?
Any idea's. (tried to put a stock from a SS 700SPS onto a Blue 700SP. Rifles supposedly were the same caliber)
