winchester model 54 extractor
« on: March 21, 2008, 10:44:14 AM »
  Hello to everyone,

I have an older variation (1926 vintage) Winchester model 54, chambered for the ".30 government" in this case the .30/06 rather than the .30/40 Krag.
Occasionally I get a failure to extract. after experimenting with the rifle a fair amount, I think that the extractor has weakened and does not always grab strong enough onto the cartridge rim.
Does anyone know where I could find a replacement? I called Numrich gun parts and they did not have one. Lately I have been cruising Ebay, and old gunshops/pawn shops that may have parts or guns in the "parting out" price range.
anyone know where I could find one, repair one, or even have one made?

   Thanks, Rvtrav
