What is your favorite bear attractant? Is it homemade or commercial?

I liked the codeblue scent bag you hang in a tree it seemed to work well for me. I also start my bait sights with honey burns. Only a few more weeks here and we get to get the baits up and going. I can't wait.

5 Months to wait here. I will probably start with grease and a drag depending on the weather .

Last fall I used some incense stick type attractant I picked up at Cabella's. I used both a berry scent and an anise scent. The site was baited with meat scraps and berry donut filling. Three days of hunting yielded two bears, five bears and one bear a nice six foot #240 boar, recently retrieved from taxidermist.  My partner on this adventure saw one bear in three days, no scent stick. Do I believe it worked, not sure, but I'll be burning them again. Guides opinion... "never know what dat bear want, try Old Spice if you want" that said he has reverential trust in vanilla in a spray bottle. Yes, I used some of that too, a regular smorgasboard out there.

I've heard of people using Fish Fertilizer (there are no chemicals) with very good results get it in liquid form so just pour it onto an old stump so it can leach in.

I hear the bears will be along shortly...

Is there an advantage to using tree huggers over bunny huggers?

I keep telling my hunting partner to smear honey all over himself and run through the woods and "troll" for bears.
