Well went to the range this morning. Just as I had thought No failures but the scope is loose now. Surprisingly it is shooting pretty good for the base being loose. Every time I set it down and picked it back up my zero moved. I have a new thought for fixing it, instead of dishing out another 30 buck to try a different base, I want to take a very small amount of metal off the bottom of the base where it meets the slide. This should allow me to get the screws tight, it will rest on the rear post as it should and the slide will work. How is the best way to do this? Steel wool? File? We are talking about the thickness of 3-4 pieces of paper is what is needed to allow it to rest on the rear post. I want it to look good too. If I mess it up is not too big of a deal since it doesn't work as is. Best i can tell it is aluminum. It will be a few days before I will have a good chance to do it so if no response from them I will give it a go.
