Colorful gun laws
« on: March 23, 2008, 08:10:22 AM »
I have been to this gun shop and like their work. They have specialized in full auto and suppressed weapons, and now colored guns, much to the dismay of some people. What do your think? See link below.

I didn't look at the link but why not different coloured guns besides the traditional black or blue. They make the .22 chipmunks in all sorts of colours that might be more appealing to a little kid. Especially a girl. (and less threatening to Mama)  And the Bench Rest shooters can get pretty exotic in their stock colour schemes.

They may be a shock to us traditonalist but its not our money. As more and more women have taken on the job of over the road drivers, have you noticed how many rigs are purple, tangerine, peach and such?  If I had thought it would interest my wife in shooting or hunting to have a pink or lavender (whatever colour that is) stocked rifle in the safe, I guarentee you there would have been one... or two... or so.

freakin politicains.  if they aint scoring with hookers or goofing off in airport bathrooms,  they are wasting our time with this crap.
i have been to lauer custom weaponry, and they are a nice group of people, and have a nice shop.  i would say that we should maximize lauers business; make this free advertising work for them.  could end up being the best finacial year for them ever.   ;D

Great idea, what did you have in mind? A brightly colored AR, 1911 or something else?

Personally I prefer more traditionally finished guns but unusually colored guns are not a new idea.   S&W has marketed a line of guns aimed toward women called "Lady Smith" with aluminum frames that are anodized in vibrant colors like purple or cobalt blue for a number of years.  Actually some I've seen are very sharp looking.

Of coarse they would have to outlaw spray paint in general not just this company's product to stop criminals from painting their guns in non traditional tones.  After all a bad guy is more apt to spray bomb his gun with a can of pink $3 department store Krylon than he is to buy this outfits product.

I've no doubt that Bloombergs kommunistic ideals are far more dangerous to this country than a pink Glock.

Anyone who spends $74,000,000 of is own money to get elected mayor, and worse yet blows $84,000,000 MORE, 4 years later, to get re-elected for the same office, but comes out against painted guns HAS A HOLE IN HIS HEAD. Bloomberg can go &@#% himself up the @6$. POS.

It was quite apparent that the drive by news anchor was clearly against painting guns (newsflash there!), but I think ABC driveby news did this shop a huge favor in free advertising.

Cheese, is this the shop in Chip Falls? I hope their sales go through the roof..

If I were a cop in a dark alley I would prefer someone pull out a lime green gun than a black one.

I am often out in wet damp weather.  The bluing on Handi's is not the best in the world, and they rust fast, before I can get them home and dry.  So I started painting them, makes maintenance easier.  The ones I use for hunting in the spring I did in greens.  The ones I use in the fall I did in browns.  The one for winter I did in white.  And the one I did that simulates rock, everyone that sees it thinks it is great.  I have done a few for friends who wanted to get their daughters into shooting  in pink and purple.  One of my son's Anschutz has a blue stock.  So what's the problem with painting a gun?    It's freighting it shows people are finding new ways to get their kids into shooting.  It's a step back in their nobody has a gun policy.   Thinking about putting that glow in the dark paint on my Raging Bull in .454 Casull, so it is easier to find at night.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
