336 stock veriations?
« on: March 25, 2008, 04:52:19 PM »
Will a stock off of a 336 made in 1971 fit on a 336 made in 1966 (both pistol grip rifles)? What years has Marlin changed the fit to rifle of their stocks? Or where can I find this information?

It should, even a 19th c. Marlin will accept a modern 336 stock.

They did make a change but I'm not exactly sure when they did. I'm pretty sure you should be ok with those years. I think the later 336 stocks may require a little inletting IIRC.
