Hard to get a mower around.  Looks like the barrels are plugged.

Exactly the problem.  Also they all have some RUST on them, unfortunately, who'd want such ugly junk anyway.

Even with the rust, they would make an interesting fence if you stuck them in the
ground upright. In Astoria, Oregon they used to have a fence made out of harpoons from
harpoonguns used for whaling at the maritime museum.

I wouldn't mind having one or two of those mounted in what passes for my front yard.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

Well I would be very happy to help them clean up this eye sore....... I know it would be a burden
but I would be willing to take 5,6,7,9  away so they would have less trouble cutting the grass......
I'm sure there would be other civic minded people willing to help,
so I didn't want to be greedy by removing all the eye sores myself
just email me the address and I'll make arrangements to get them moved.... ;D

The person who sent me the photo has not told me yet, I think he doesn't want me going after them myself.  If anymore info comes up I can post it.  I do know the Parrott is a 30-pounder.

Looks like there is a capstan there in the middle background so I would guess it's some Navy yard, maybe from the 1930's.  Doubt it is a modern image.

I don't know, Chain link fence, blue tarp and what looks like a red Pickup next to the tin shed in the background, could be a modern photo, I'd love to find it.

If you blow up the photo and look beyond the chain link fence behind the metal building is a red truck or suv
I don't think those were around in the 1930's

The brick building itself is old, granite foundation the brick itself is in poor condition several areas show spawling, I have a feeling this is in a northern clime......
could be at an older/ex- military base, museum, or town or county municipal building.....not enough to go on.

How about 4 of them, one in foreground and three in background.

>Swedish

For some reason, the only two known 20-inch Dahlgren guns are at Ericksson's grave in Sweden.  I think as a gesture of international goodwill, one of them ought to be returned.  I will send you my shipping address.  Please just do me a favor and pre-pay the shipping, I'll reimburse you as soon as it arrives, I promise.

no problems   ;D

I will send both of them to you  :o

but if you find any notice in the newspapers or on TV news that they arrested an grave digger in Filipstad Sweden ,
then you know by obvious reasons that I don't reply any mails for a few years or so   ;D ;D

but you need to send me $ 100 000 for the shipping cost , everything is expensive in this country you know   ::) ::)

just as an curiosity I can tell you that the gasoline costs approximately $ 10 per gallon , sorry but that's no joke , its fact .
in some ways this is an s__t country . but I still love it

now this starts to look like one of those Nigerian letters   ;D ;D
I would never think I would be writing such letters   ;) ;)

Fine, I will send you a check drawn on the Third National Bank of Nigeria, on the day of shipment.
