Groups opened up after stock swap

Went from the synthetic to pallet wood lams and my groups opened up. Is this normal? I'm thinking of going to the choate varmint set up, any input appreciated.

Any change in the forend is likely to change how it shoots, see accurizing in the FAQs and Help.
