I came across some traps in the bunch that i was given to use that look like a normal long spring but they have an extra arm that comes up when the jaws close, After looking around a little i have come to the conclusion that they are stop loss traps, if so, what are they used for? any specific animals? What can i use then for as i see that there is a few of them in there?
Im still slowly working through those old rusty traps, my main concern now is to take the trapping course though, im still waiting for one in my area.
Anyway just by looks so far here is an estimate of what i think is in these buckets of old traps
about 5 330's those things are huge, i couldnt miss them
probably around 3 dozen 110s or maybe more there seems to be quite a few
im unsure of the other sizes but there is about a dozen or 2 inbetween sizes
around 2-3 dozen 1.5 coil springs
1-2 dozen 1.5 longsprings
a dozen 1.5 stop loss traps
i believe there is also a dozen 4's and some 3s as well
Could be more could be less, all i know is there is 4 milk crates jam packed with traps, i've been taking a few at a time and removing loose rust they clean up decent with just a brush but im considering the vinegar method so they function a little smoother after dipped
