New tikka 308
« on: April 03, 2008, 06:54:14 PM »
I was wondering if anyone gets good groups with 150 grains bullets. I have a ton of hornady SST's and interbonds. I would like to use 150 anyway for deer to get a little better ballistics. If you have any reloads to share i appreciate it, I was hoping to get 2850 to 2900 fps if possible. Oh by the way i was wondering what kind of rings are the best for about $50.

Hi, I have found better luck with 165gr from mine. I absolutely love the DedNutz rings, I have them on many rifles including Tikka's. They are a 1 piece design that screw to the 4 pre-drilled holes in the top of the receiver. They are available for around $48 from Midway. They are a great product. I have tried the Warnes and Talleys, which also work. I just prfer the 1 piece mount, very solid and they don't add much weight either. The stock Tikka rings don't do so well on the 308, although they are fine on smaller calibers.

I use DedNutz (now DNZ) on my T3 Lite and love it. When scoping the T3 keep in mind that they weigh nothing and that eye relief can become your best friend.
