Itinerary for 2008 shoot
« on: April 04, 2008, 08:14:49 AM »
Just looking for confirmation on itinerary for the shoot so I can book motel and hog hunt. We are going to be meeting at Dan's and shooting May 29 thursday morning ? Don't know for sure yet whether we will be coming in the motor home or staying at the Cole or Super 8 as gas prices may make it cheaper to book a room than to drive motor home. I know some of you will be there early but for the most part are we looking for Wednesday arrivals? Kurt

I'm going out there on Wed.and have a look around at the new towns if Dan's got time.I'm takeing my popup trailer again, and will park it at Dan's. I think I'll take my Z 71 this year, because of the high price of deisel down here.  Digger

OK guys, this will be my first rodeo. What town is it? and where do most people stay?

I am really looking forward to coming up this year.

I can also bring a bunch of fish to cook, if needed.

Hey Stimpy, you can buy your hunting license online thru the Oklahoma Wildlife Dept.

Here's the link:
https://www.wildlifedepartment.com/onlinesales/onlinesalesintro.asp

Saves time going to Wally World, and you can print your license out at home!

Look forward to seeing everyone in about 3 weeks. ;D ;D

FOOD...

What time do we meet in the mornings, is there a place to eat breakfast before we meet.  I do not remember many places to eat in Hooker.  Thanks, Mike

I don't recall that we ate breakfast any of the mornings on the first trip out. I do recall a meal with myself, Wes, Mike and DJ but I think that as a lunch. I'm pretty sure I carried breakfast bars to the dog towns with me and ate breakfast there. Now that might have been my choice but I don't recall any of us eating breakfast on that trip.

I seem to recall Wes met us about 6:30 AM most mornings and that we went straight to the dog towns from the motel. That might have changed tho since Dan has been running things.

Mike

There is a little place just east of the motel about 1/4 mile that opens at about 6 AM if I remember right , also the Subway at the gas station does breakfast stuff and is open 24 hrs .

The last 2 years we have been leaving the motel between 7:00 and 7:30 to head out , Dan is not quite the morning person that Wes is .  ;)

We usually take a break for lunch, and in the past Dano has come up with something good for dinner on Friday and Saturday.  He may or may not do that this year, we can hope he does, he does pretty doggone good with that cooker of his!  ;)
