Who's walking on water and who's walking in water?

Just wondering how many of us are trapping beaver and if your in the open water yet? I'm working the open water since last weekend, When we pulled our last ice sets last Wed. it was a little hairy.

I'll be starting beaver trapping this coming fall/winter (2008/2009), but I can tell you it will be nothing but open water the entire time!  Ice is something we put in mixed drinks!!!

Partly open water, even walking on top of ice  with water flowing over it.... it is  a little touchy, dont know  how thick ice is so being VERY carefull in places  walking to make sets in open water....  Snow in woods is  2 1/2 feet thick yet along streams that are open,. had to use snowshoes in places.... this is supposed to be open water trapping  . Very warm today   65 degrees, so snow is melting....   Stashing bvr pelts under snow  till i can scrape them. .

 Small ponds are opening here, lakes are still ice bound. They are supposed to get a lot of snow tonight, where I trap in the North. So my guess is, it will be close to May 1 , before ice out , there.
