couple new sixguns

Just made swap with boge quinn. He wanted my 41 special in the worse way and to be honest a rarely shot it. I swapped him for a like new 45 colt new vaquero blued with a 4 5/8s barrel and a 44 bisley vaquero stainless. The new vaquero will no doubt be a project gun but the old one is going to be a shooter. Ive had 3 other 44 bis. vaqs. in the past and ended up making them all into customs of a differnt caliber. I allways wanted one just for a 44 mag and this one will stay stock. It may get either a drift front sight or a  smith adustable rear but other then that it will be stock. Other then an action job it will be stock. Well maybe a belt mountain pin. thats it! Well id probably take the warning off the barrel. then it probably would need a set of nice grips to set it off. Then ill leave it alone The small framed vaquero will be a custom 5 shot gun. I havent yet really decided what caliber but have some neat ideas. It will be customized though unlike the stock bisley

  Could you tell a bit about that .41 special?  Been looking at another rechambering to be done and that cartridge came into the list of possibles last night.

in a single six its capable of pushing a 210 to about a 1000 fps in a 357 frame im sure you could run it at 1200.

While you are leaving it stock, dont forget a Belt Mtn base pin and a crescent ejector rod.....maybe some fancy walnut stocks......I KNOW, an octagon barrel.....Im mean, since we ARE leaving it stock......

I think he meant stock plus all of the standard modifications that should be stock.     Don't forget to free wheel it!  What kind of stock gun isn't free wheeled?  And of course you hate stainless so you have to fix that too.  While you're at it don't forget to change the caliber to something else.

What I Really Want To Know Is How Many Handguns You Actually Own.

Do ya suppose that they would cover the lenght of the runway at your municipal airport if placed end to end

That's only because he chopped all the barrels.  If not they would probably line up all the way to toledo.

havent counted them in years. You have to keep in mind that i post when i get a new one but alot are sold too. I would guess the number is between 30 and 40 usually.

found out from Boge today that the bis vaqu. is a 5.5 inch gun and not a 4 5/8s so you know that one has to donate to the scrap barrel ends pile.

Lloyd, it costs a little more to do as you have to cut the ejector housing/rod down also, but you really should try a 4" barrel.  Boy do I love that length on a single action!  And if you work from the original 5 1/2" you have to cut shorter than the 4 5/8" anyway to clean up the front sight slot in the barrel on a fixed sight gun.  With an adjustable sighted Ruger, it wouldn't matter with their usual front sight base.  Anyway, just my 2cts.  When I get the next Gaucho out of layaway (blued 5 1/2" barrel for $200), it will end up with the tube being 4".  44 Man.
