Charlton Heston passed away
« on: April 06, 2008, 02:05:14 AM »
I sure enjoyed his movies.  My favorite is "Will Penny", even though he was great in so many other roles.  I admire the way he "stuck to his guns" politically too.  Rare in his profession.  God bless him.

I have to wonder if he'll be marching around with MLK where he is now.  I guess everyone is allowed some weirdness.

One of my hero's!  He said it for all of us, Clear and Loud!  "From My Cold Dead Hands!"  John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Slim Pickings, Louis L'Amour, and Charlton Heston.  They will be remembered.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

The strong icons of integrity and honour are dying off and none seem to be stepping up to replace them.

My favorite movie was "The Omega Man" ... by the way, Will Smith's current hit movie "I am Legend" (I think that's the title) is a remake of the Omega Man ...

My second favorite was "The Big Country" followed by "Ben Hur." What a man ... what an actor ...

Ok, I'll admit it.  When they stuffed him on his horse at the end of "El Cid" I cried.

Highly recommend "Mountain Men" with Brian Keith  very funny.
and "The Warlord" with Richard Boone.
and "Midway"
and "Ten Commandments"
and........

guess I got plans Saturday after turkey hunting.
