« on: April 06, 2008, 01:41:24 PM »
Was at the gun show in Tulsa today and saw a 22lr side by side Barrel for the contender it was  at Eds booth. Sorry I did not ask price was afraid I might have to have it to add to the collection Was about 12 inches. He also had a very funny looking contender from thompson strange looking to say the least, barrel was also very strange and unusual . they said it was the latest thing.

If it is the same thing, it is a over and under. you fire the rimfire barrel and then switch it to center fire and fire the second barrel. Neat idea, huh?

Yep, sounds like one of Mike's (OTT) 22 rimfire O/U barrels for the Contender (not a SXS).   Getting both barrels to subtend to the same POI would be extremely difficult out of a single piece of bar stock, and I don't know if Mike achieved that or not with these barrels.    To me it's more just a oddity that has no practical advantage at around $500 just for "show & tell".

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

No, It was a double barrel side by side rimmed only pistol. It was a new OTT prototype.  Mike Sirois (OTT) and Art Lamontage (president TCA) was at the Tulsa Gun show at Ed's Contenders tables. There will only be a few made, I was told. I placed my order for a 22 LR & 22 win mag. Mike  (OTT) made a frame to handle the double barrel side by side. Yes, You don't want to know the price about the price of two guns.  The cost is not firmed  up yet. You can only live once. I could not help myself. I just wanted one. I hear talk about of new things yet to come.
