new mossberg lever gun

has  anyone checked out the new mossberg 464? I've seen it on-line and was wondering if anyone has had a chance to handle one. dinger.

check out the mossberg forum i saw a guy talking about one he handled....he wasn't impressed

  I had one of their older lever guns (679 ?).  Though it looked like a Marlin and was accurate it wasn't built well.  The action was sloppy, the trigger heavy and the internal parts weren't designed or machined well.  If I remember correctly there were real problems with the elevator.  A friend had to fabricate parts to correct the problem.  Wood to metal fit was bad also.  I sure hope they've improved it!

Thanks to STUMPJMPR and freezer for the reply. I guess this is where the pioneers are gonna take the arrows to break the trail for others. Some brave soul is gonna eventually buy one and wring it out. We will just have to watch the forums to see. There is a gun show  locally this weekend so i may have to go have a look-see myself. Looks like a good deal for the price, I just compared the prices between the new Mossberg 30-30 verses the new Henry 30-30 and WOW !!! Mossberg MSRP $473.00 verses Henry MSRP $749 . Hopefully they have everything worked out right. I love my Henry's 22 and 22 Mag , but they have really out priced me on the 30-30. I have a couple of mossberg shot guns and they are priced at a very good value. I really hope this rifle gets good reviews .
