I'd put that in the same category as when the army infantry unit at Camp Grayling mistakenly attacked the boy scouts camped in Hartwick Pines state park. Wonder how many heads rolled in that one

They were bedded down for the night. Im sure they were quite angry when the flash grenades went off and woke them up though. Thats not the only incident thats happened up there. About 15 years ago roughly about the same year as the attack there was a chopper that mistakenly sprayed part of the state park with 50 cal fire. Hartwick Pines State Park is right next to the northwest area of Camp Grayling.

Reminds me of the saying, "The best thing in the world is a Boy Scout with a map and compass and the worse thing is a 2nd Lt with a map and a compass"

I don't know but a group of Boy Scouts on a tour of Lambeau Field, kicked the daylights out of the Packers one year!   ;D

When I was a young Marine in Fox 2/10 , a 105mm battery at Camp LeJeune NC . At Bn. HQ was a skull named Mortimer . When anyone "shot out " Mortimer was promoted . In 1979 I saw a Generals car hit in the back seat while parked on OP 2 . The Gen. was in the bleachers . This did not improve his mood when his car was destroyed . Moral of the story is know your load !!!!   Armorer
