These types of questions are always difficult to respond to without creating a heated debate because they are all choices, personal choices and each person has a valid reason, at least in his own mind, for his choice. Beyond that, it is all rhetoric.
In whichever two cartridges are ever compared with their respective 'advantages', there is virtually little detectable difference upon application. Getting beyond the paper performance, putting the properly constructed bullet into the proper place is where the rubber meets the road. This is where it either goes in the freezer or gets away. Either cartridge of any of these 'comparisons' will do the job - so which one do 'you' want to use? That's really all it is and forget the bickering. I haven't met an elk yet that cared about BC or SD or ES or FPS. My biggest bull went down with a 200gr NPT from an 8mm carbine; my biggest cow took a hit from a 32WSpl with a 182gr cast from wheelweights. For sure neither are powerhouses, but they both did their jobs as requested, with little fanfare.
